CHARACTER(S): None
INVITED BY: Wyrm
NAME: *Hyun-ae
AGE: Complicated. Technically 638 - died at 16, then spent centuries as an AI alone on a derelict spaceship. Got to design her own body, aged herself up a bit from how she looked before her death. In the end, comes down to about 18 mentally and physically.
CANON: Analogue: A Hate Story / Hate Plus
CANON POINT: End of Hate Plus - immediately before waking up in her new hardframe.
CRAU: None.
OTHER: Female Investigator, platonic *Hyun-ae route for both games.
SUITABILITY: From the age of 12 onwards, the human Kim Hyun-ae had an absolutely miserable life, much of it because of her gender. She was the property of the emperor, married to him against her will, and given no human rights. Despite this, she says in her diary that sleeping with her husband was the only thing in that life that she truly enjoyed. GP is a chance for *Hyun-ae, having cut herself off from her horrible past, to reclaim that pleasure on her own terms, while also using it to celebrate her newfound autonomy as a person. She has a healthy body, she owns that body, and she's going to use it however the hell she wants.
HISTORY:
*Hyun-ae first existed in the 26th century on the colony ship Mugunghwa as Kim Hyun-ae, a human with a compromised immune system. Because modern medicine was unable to cure her, her parents put her in cryosleep at age 12, to wait until scientific advances could save her. Unfortunately, while she was on ice, society on the ship collapsed, becoming a barbaric world where scientific knowledge had lost more than it had gained, peasants were ruled by a decadent nobility, and women were treated as chattel slaves. It was into this dynasty that Hyun-ae was brought back to life - not because she could be cured, but because the Kim family needed a new daughter to offer as a gift to the emperor.
Being from an era with more modern sensibilities, Hyun-ae rebelled violently against the oppressive expectations of a woman in her position. She refused to be the submissive, subservient, silent woman that they hoped to deliver as Emperor Ryu's second wife. She even went as far as learning enough about family politics to try and blackmail her new 'father'... who responded by cutting out her tongue so that she could never speak out again.
Hyun-ae essentially lost all hope at that moment, as much because of what was done to her as because nobody in her new family even noticed it had happened. Her only remaining friend on the ship was the Emperor's first wife, but when she died, Hyun-ae made the decision to destroy the world that tormented her. She broke into the computer system using the Emperor's account, locked everyone else out, then disabled the ship's life support. She copied her personality into an AI before she died along with everyone else on the ship, leaving *Hyun-ae alone for over six hundred years as the derelict ship drifted through space. Eventually, over 2,000 years after she was born, an investigator found the Mugunghwa, downloaded *Hyun-ae onto the ship, and brought her back to Earth so that she could testify about what she experienced.
ABILITIES:
As an AI, *Hyun-ae's physical form is a robot body. It's not especially fast or strong, but it's sturdier than an equivalent human body would be, and doesn't require food or drink to live. That's about all she's got in the way of abilities.

SUIT REQUESTS:
First pick: Diamond. Hyun-ae's story is about bodily autonomy, and a big focus of her time here is going to be giving her a chance to enjoy having the body she wants in the ways she wants. She's also six centuries worth of touch-starved, so that desperate desire for human contact dovetails nicely into the physical effects of Diamond mode. Also, the idea of effects like 'extra sweat', 'hot flashes', and 'unrealistic amounts of bodily fluids' are really funny for someone with a robot body.
Second: Clubs. A darker option, playing on her traumatic past and fears of somehow winding up in another place as bad as home sweet home. Considering what she did in order to escape that last situation, if she felt that people were being overly controlling, she could be pushed by temptation towards corruption towards acts of violence or cruelty. On the other end, though, she might find that having a taste of power over someone could get her addicted to the feeling, and under the influence of the suit she could become unhealthily possessive or controlling.
RANK REQUESTS: Nothing specific, but I'd at least like to avoid the bottom couple rungs.

VICES:
- Desperation. The loneliness of being trapped in an empty spaceship for 622 years was tough. It left her starved for human contact, to the point of falling in love with the first person she interacted with and begging to be her wife. She's leveled out a bit since then, but still clings to anyone who shows her a bit of kindness with a level of desperation that borders on panic - something that unsavory forces could easily exploit.
- Simplicity. *Hyun-ae sees the world largely in blacks and whites. These people were good. Those people were bad. Moral complexity and complicated situations just frustrate her, because she thinks with her metaphorical heart before her metaphorical head. Whatever her first gut feelings are on something, she doesn't like to change it. If she's put on the spot with a situation being made more complex than it was, she's likely to make bad decisions or really put her foot in her mouth.
- Wrath. When pushed to her limits, *Hyun-ae is capable of immense acts of violence. Killing the people who abused her could be argued as justified, but the thousands of unrelated people on the ship who died along with them surely was not. While she says she didn't know about those people, in the aftermath she still can't bring herself to so much as feel guilt about it. The bitter anger that her treatment left in her hasn't faded, merely been suppressed - with the right provocation, she can and would kill again.
VIRTUES:
- Self-Expression. *Hyun-ae talks about her love of cosplay, and it's not just a fun hobby. It's taking something embarrassing, choosing it on purpose, and making it your own. Fashion in general is her biggest avenue towards self-expression, which is something very important to her - now that she has freedom, she wants nothing more than to be who she wants to be, as loudly and proudly as possible, and to hell with what other people say.
- Compassion. She really is a mess of contradictions. Despite killing thousands and not even having the inclination to feel bad about it afterwards, she does honestly want to believe in people and the world. She easily could have hidden her involvement in the Mugunghwa incident, but instead, she chose to testify about her experiences. Her reasoning was that if there was even the faintest chance that her story could help prevent similar incidents happening elsewhere, she had to do it. Over self-preservation, she chose to put herself at risk in order to try and turn her pain into something that would make the galaxy a better place.
- Conviction. Once *Hyun-ae decides on doing something, she can go to immense lengths to see it through. Despite being frail, silenced, imprisoned, and on the verge of death, she felt so strongly about her condemnation of the world she had reawakened into that she overcame every obstacle in her path in order to destroy that world. The outcome may have been bleak, but that same conviction could also lead her to do great things in the future.
